What is the DEX-AI LLM (Large Language Model)?

The DEX-AI (Large Language Model) is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) system trained on enormous quantities of text, computer code and other information to understand and generate human language.

LLMs power applications such as DEX, allowing users to ask questions, generate software code, analyse technical documents, translate languages, and solve complex problems using ordinary conversational instructions.

How does the DEX-AI LLM work?

The DEX-AI LLM uses a neural network, typically based on an architecture called a Transformer, to process information.

During training, the model learns statistical relationships between words, phrases, concepts and patterns in data. It learns to predict the next token (a word, part of a word or another unit of text) based on the preceding context.

Through this training process, the DEX-AI LLM develops capabilities including language understanding, reasoning, programming, mathematical problem-solving and technical explanation.

When you ask DEX-AI for information, the model processes your request and generates a response.

What can the DEX-AI LLM do?

Generate parametric parts with:

•An embed datasheet.

•A symbol complete with full pin details and popup tooltips for each pin showing a description of what the pin does.

•A complete 2D footprint/land pattern.

•A fully automatically generated 3D model of the part.

Once created, you can set additional parameters for the device including:

•Symbols Graphics

•The Footprint

•The 3D Model

•Device metadata such as supplier, device desciption etc.

How does the DEX-AI LLM work with AutoTRAX DEX?

The DEX-AI LLM provide an intelligent interface to your electronic design software.

For example, you could enter:

Find the pinout of a Zilog Z80180 microprocessor, identify all supported packages and generate the schematic symbols and PCB footprints.

The DEX-AI LLM interprets that request, extract pin assignments from manufacturer documentation, and return structured information for AutoTRAX DEX to process.

 

In summary: The DEX-AI LLM is an AI system capable of understanding and generating language, software code and structured information. Its principal advantage is that users can communicate complex requirements in natural language rather than writing conventional computer instructions.
