How Does DEX Find Part Details

DEX-AI finds IC pinout details by combining web searches, manufacturer's datasheets, technical documentation, and its trained knowledge of electronic components.

However, there is an important distinction between retrieving verified pinout information and generating a plausible pinout from learned knowledge.

How DEX-AI obtains pinout information?

1.Identify the IC

2.Manufacturer, part number and device family

3.Find the manufacturer's datasheet

4.Official PDF and package variants

5.Extract the pin assignments

6.Pin diagrams, tables and signal descriptions

7.Validate the pin mappings

8.Package-specific numbering, NC pins and power connections

9.Structured data for AutoTRAX DEX

This is the ideal workflow, but DEX-AI does not necessarily perform every step automatically.

For example, for the Zilog Z80180, the official Z80180 Product Specification is the appropriate primary reference.

Can DEX-AI make mistakes?

Yes, and this is particularly important for electronic design.

DEX-AI can incorrectly associate a pin number with a signal, confuse package variants, omit pins, or invent plausible-looking details.

For example, a 64-pin DIP and a 68-pin PLCC version of the same microprocessor do not necessarily share the same pin numbering.

Even when DEX-AI provides a link to a datasheet, that does not automatically mean every pin assignment has been checked against it.
