A part consists of one or more symbols.
If there are more than one symbols in the part then each symbol is called a sibling symbol.
In a part design, each symbol is defined on it's own symbol schematic. So, a part with 4 symbols will have 4 symbol schematics. Examples of a parts that has multiple symbols can be found in the class 74xxx logic family.
A part has one and only footprint design. The footprint is also known as a land pattern.
